How to avoid anxiety

The chemicals released into the body during exercise, have a positive and stabilizing effect on the mood, and the person experiences a sense of well-being.

Anxiety is an emotion that everyone has experienced. It is an anguished feeling of fear and restlessness. This cause in their thinking (fear, concern), in bodily functions (rapid heartbeat, sweating), and behavior (nervous and / or violent), all this only reinforces their feelings of anguish. A little may be even good, like getting excited about an event, but too much anxiety is not good at all, and can affect your daily life.

The psychiatric problem, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is much more than the normal anxiety that we usually experience. It is a chronic feeling caused by exaggerated worry and tension. People with generalized anxiety disorder often have physical symptoms, such as tremors, spasms, headaches, diarrhea, sweating or hot flashes. You may feel dizzy, out of breath, and as if you have a lump in your throat. Having this disorder means always anticipating a disaster, worrying excessively about your health, money, family and work.

Although the patients know their level of anxiety, they can not avoid their worries. As with depression , anxious people do not have the condition to choose. They can not control their feelings without help. Successful GAD treatment may include medication, psychotherapy, and relaxation techniques to control muscle tension.

A panic attack is an episode that occurs suddenly, your heart beats, you may feel faint or dizzy, your hands shake, tingling or numbness, and you may have chest pain or a choking feeling. Feelings are frightening, and you may think you are having a heart attack, stroke, or are about to die. Panic attacks can occur at any time without warning, even waking you from sleep. They usually last for a few minutes and sometimes persist for an hour or more.

Regular physical activity reduces the level of anxiety . As with depression, physical activity accomplishes this effect in several ways. Being consistent with regular exercise increases your sense of personal control and mastery, so you can counteract the feelings of anxiety. A workout can also give your mind a distraction or detour of the tension. Also, being fit can lower your adrenaline levels. That’s one of the reasons that your heart rate and blood pressure are lower after fitness. When your adrenaline level is lower, even if you are anxious, you will have fewer physical changes (slower heartbeats, less tremors and less sweating). Therefore, there will be fewer physical cues to reinforce your feelings.

Participating in an aerobic activity such as walking, running, swimming, biking, tennis, for 30-40 minutes three times a week is a healthy goal. Exercise can help the production of chemicals in the body that make people feel good and help you find yourself truly relaxed when you do not practice it. We should not overlook the importance of carrying out a diet as varied and balanced as possible, so we will be sure that we do not lack any kind of nutrient needed to maintain a healthy body.

Also, the use of exercise as a treatment for panic disorder or generalized anxiety disorder has been recommended. It can lower anxiety levels and reduce the frequency of panic attacks. However, unlike depression, exercise can only correct mild to moderate symptoms, regular physical activity will not be enough to solve or avoid anxiety altogether, you will need extra help with medication and psychotherapy.
